About Adam and the Elephants

Adam and the Elephants makes melodic, guitar-driven indie rock built on big hooks, thoughtful lyrics, and a deep love of classic pop/rock songwriting.

The debut album, Then, Again, blends the energy and texture of ’90s/00s indie and alternative rock with the melodic instincts of power pop. Ringing guitars and tight harmonies underscore stories of restless dreamers, anxious romantics, and everyday moments.

Recorded independently in New Jersey, Then, Again is the first album of original music by Adam Zurbruegg, composed after years of working as a sideman and cover band musician in the New York City metro area.

Listeners may hear traces of Fountains of Wayne, Matthew Sweet, Weezer, or The Apples in Stereo, but Then, Again speaks in its own voice: one that is simultaneously hopeful and humble, timely and timeless.

Then, Again features drums by Anthony Freda; all other instruments performed by Adam Zurbruegg. It was written, mixed, and produced by Adam Zurbruegg, and mastered by Dave Drago/1809 Studios.
